Dentists Aquarium: What would you do?

Try to notice if the fish swim out of view along the sides, the tank might be considerably larger than it looks or (who knows) even filtered by a sump. In wall tanks...it's anyone's guess how big they are. It's very possible this is a professional setup with professional maintenance, believe it or not!

They have to do whatever the customer wants, and they might have portfolios or something...which the person in charge is just pointing to and asking for. That might explain the various different themes and fish. Many "customers" insist the tank look very full.

Since it's a large complex, you will probably have to ask - who's the one who takes care of the aquarium?

It's definitely not bigger then it looks, the Pleco was sitting (but not suckered) on the side of the tank next to the heater, and the other side was visible. I will ask who takes care of the tank (and hope they don't say "he quite last week" or somethin). I certainly hope the tank is a professional set up, that will make my life ten times easier, but I have to ask, or else it will always bug me...

I do not mean to be rude, but, I am not so sure someone that cant take care of their own teeth ( 9 fillings ) should worry about someone elses tank.

I have recently gone to the dentist..first time in a LONG time... i have cavitys( 9 to be exact)...are you implying people who have cavitys are not fit to take care of fish?

dental hygiene has nothing to do with someones ability to take care of fish.
(i dont know the OP or there tanks...just saying)

To the OP:..take it in slow steps..first ask about the tank...see who knows what..who takes care of it and ease in to the conversation.

What do teeth and fish have in common? Oh yea, nothing... jus because I can't take care of my teeth doesn't mean I can't take care of fish (though there are some who would likely doubt that).

Have a friendly attitude but if whoever you talk to shoots you down as soon as you bring it up, dont push too hard and risk angering beyond the point of listening.
Ask if they have someone who comes in and perform some sort of maintenance on the tank, offer to do it for free cleanings. You clean their tank, they clean your teeth

Absolutely! First find out who maintains the tank. Ime a place as large as the one you describe has an outside contractor that maintains the tank. Most tank owners in these situations want the tank to be algae free, have clear water and not lose "too many fish". And if they call with an emergency or problem they expect it to be handled promptly. Alot of "professionals" are happy to provide service to that level. They may be reluctant to let you get involved, but saying something might spark someone there to ask their tank guy some questions. Probably not but the saying something is about you not them. Now if the tank is maintained by an employee or the relative/friend/spouse of an employee you might be more successful. And you'll **** someone there off! All in all a satisfying day, no?

lol, I see. They most likely do have a contractor, as the office is in a larger office complex. If I can find out who maintains the tank, I can probably give them reasons to take care of it. Like money, between all the fish in there that tank is probably holding about $100-150 in fish. IMO, that's a decent amount of money for them to spend on fish alone, especially in this economy. I am very hopeful that I can get through to someone there when I bring it up, and that I don't **** anyone off. That would make it a satisfying day, IMO.
