Design Help

Hey I am a former AW2 as well. Bear Trap and DMP special Ops Sensor 1, VP-10. 1986-1991.

Thanks for the advice!

Where do you live that you have the climate and space for a Shark pond?

An IR Repeater system is a system Infrared repeaters that go on the closet. they transmit the signals from your remotes through the wall to your equipment. They are virtually invisable and allow you to hide all your tech gear.

As far as your overflow and return goes on your tank, I suggest built-ins. If you run hang-on syphons you could have a major flood problem and no way to get to it in a hurry...

In the way of flood possibilities make sure your electrician places primary outlets about water level and run conduit lower if needed. Also keep in mind that 220v is extremely deadly to you and your fish and shouldn't be taken lightly. In saying this make sure you put plenty of GFI (every single outlet) and additional grounding, don't accept one single ground.

All this may sound like overkill, but in my mind it prevents killover

Have fun... I know I would

Yeah, GFI everything, ground everything and you might wanna check on some 240v lighting or pumps, they may be more cost effective as far as cost to run, more bang for the buck if you will. :look: Just make sure access/room/power/safety is more than ample for what you want and need.

I agree, RE: safety.

I do plan to have built-ins. THroughout the tank with check valves to ensure no siphon. I guess I can also have the returns built into the tank sides as well, or can't I?

What about my hardware and plumbing extending from the basement. Does that sound feasible?

Thanks for the help

There should be some possibilities with side returns, there is (somewhere) a water return you put onto your plumbing that can sweep water left and right, that might be a killer deal with a few side returns .. hmm, could end up real nice if they alternate, have enough put in where you could damper some and open others for that perfect flow. . I can vision it! OMG I LIKE IT! WOW!

Ok, you can't do that. . it's my idea and I am going to .. forget I said anything *runs away*

I think it might be beneficial to place the returns at different heights on each end to prmotoe better circulation.

Anyone have thoughts on this matter?
