Desktop Tank Recommendations?

I want to get my mom a desktop tank for her birthday. It's for her desk at work and needs a lid because it's a lab and chemicals might accidentally splash into the tank. It also needs to be quiet so she wouldn't be able to use an air-driven filter. I've been looking at tanks online but they all look so cheaply made. Does anyone have any recommendations for a nice tank under 3 gallons? Thank you!

I have an Eclipse 5 and I love it. It also comes in a 3. There is no external pump, so everything is contained in a single unit. It is plastic, but it works well. I understand that tetra makes a cheaper option, but it has a mini-HOB instead of an internal filter.

Thanks for the recommendations, but those won't work. I used to have a couple Eclipse 3s. They leak because of a design flaw in their hood. Capillary action sucks water up under the hood base and down the side. Had to replace a section of my granite countertop thanks to Eclipse.

WALMART sells some small tank/lid units they dont look bad kinda a small version of the bow front tank style.

I know that Tetra makes one like you described, Rod. It has an HOB and looks like a mini bowfront. I am sorry about your counter and the Eclipse. They have made some changes on their designs, though.

marine land sells a 5 gallon hex that looks pretty cool! otherwise they used to make a "bookshelf" fish tank that was 6 gallons. I used to have one and it was pretty nice!

Just go out and purchase a rectangular 2.5 gallon tank. You can get a glass cover for the top, and you can go with an internal filter, or a HOB whichever you choose. or even a Zoomed 501 if your feeling frisky.
