I want to move my RCS from my 20 gallon tank into a desktop tank, not more than 5 gallons. Has anyone had success with these sort of tanks? Which ones perform best and hold up?

I love my marine land hex 5. The only negative I could come up with is that it is really easy to scratch.

i think its called a fluvial spec, it looks really slick. its pricey, like 75$ at pestmart but it looks really cool.

I've got two. Love them! They are easy to scratch tho. The used one I have I bought used, and Idk what they used on the tank to 'clean' it but Brillo pad lol? So taking pictures suck (first pic) but that's my new one (2nd pic) They are priced pretty good. I got mine from amazon at the time it was only like 35. Fluval has some nice looking small tanks. But I've never owned one. They are more pricey. I seen one on CL for $35 and was only a few months old and I kick myself for not buying it!

I'd just use the regular 5.5 gallon tanks (about $17) and use a desk clip lamp with a daylight CFL bulb. If you leave it uncovered, you can use a small piece of Manzanita wood and have it poke out of the top - I've always thought that looks cool!

That would be the cheapest way to go. The shrimp would have to like to climb in a hex 5 because it is a taller than it is wide.

I am in the process of a similar project, but in a 3gal long/bookshelf tank from Deep Blue (5B is the model). I'd love to see what you can come up with for your shrimp. I've been trying to convince my wife to get one of the glass craftstore bowls/cookie jars/trifle dishes to keep a betta in, but it'd work much better for a shrimp tank IMO.

That's an idea, but I've got limited space on the dssktop
