When we determine head hight, do we include the total amount of travel that the water will make(including all linear movements-left to right)? Or is it only the height of the movement. IE when a pump is rated at 1200 GPH at a head of 4 feet, is this rating for 4 feet in upwards movements only. Reason I ask is that my piping will have a Linear travel as well as a upwards travel and I do not want to go less than a certain GPH.
