I read that for zooplanktonivores there is a device that can be hooked up to the aquarium, which keeps a supply of brine shrimp eggs, and when they hatch are released into the aquarium to provide a steady supply of consumption.

How well do these work, and if they do where can I find them?

It's a brine shrimp hatchery you can get them off line . I don't like to do product endorsements but foster and smith is a good place good to deal with great service.
