diamond glass cutters.

just wondering if glass cutters need cleaning?
i have one which hasn't been used for more than 10 years now...

its just been lying around and i need it now...
just wondering if cleaning or any maintenance is needed for it?

Shouldn't need anything if you use mineral oil when you cut. The reason oil is reccomended is to carry away the glass shards and keep the wheel clean and useful.

oh no! i dodin't dip my glass cutter in oil...
but it doesn't have a wheel? just a piece of diamond on the end?

If it doesn't have the wheel it is fine. the ones with the wheel will catch shards and stop rolling at which time they no longer score the glass in a uniform manner. if your is a straight diamond tip it should remain clean and usefull for many years.
