did i use the right miracle grow organic? and shrimp.

ok then didnt see the response. could i rinse the old gravel off and just use it? i only have a 5lb bag of black gravel and walmart doesnt always have the black gravel

I don't think it would hurt to use it after it was washed off.

But some of my hardest learn lessons in life came from conversions and conclusions just like this thread. I can only give my opinion which really means little in your case, because I know nothing about shrimp. It is ultimately your choice. I just can't see where it would hurt to wash it off and use it again. I just wouldn't use the Miraclegro plant food as my substrate.

ok so im thinking ill buy some ghost shrimp like in a couple of weeks and see if they survive. then ill add my female platy and then remove the female platy after a month and add my blue pearls. will the ghost shrimp survive with the platy? if not ill move my 3 julii corys over, but will the gravel hurt their barbels? if so then ill move my harlequins. also do you think if i have a sponge filter in a tank for a month and then add another sponge filter that i could take my filter out?

Diana Walstad herself uses the potting soil mix in RCS setups...

Personally that is what I would use (and will be using). Otherwise that is quite a bit of fertilizer to use as a full substrate IMO.
