White stringy stuff?

When I got up this morning, there is this white strand looking stuff all over one of my plants and in a few other places. I didnt see anything that looked like little babies, but my mickey mouse plattie is now a lot less fat. And when I went to feed my fish this morning they didnt eat much, any of them. Did she have babies and all the fish ate them? Do I need to do a big tank cleaning to get all that white strand stuff out?

ok so this is what this stuff looks like. I dont think the platties had babies, cause I was looking at the female again and she is still fat, but I do have 2 mollys also. I also have 3 serpae tetras and 3 bumble bee gobys in the same tank.

Never seen anything other than babies come ouyt if my platies when the gave birth. Can't really see anything in the shot you posted but maybe your platie had a parasite that it got rid of?

My platy gave birth in the 36g and some "strands" did come out of her, however it did not accumulate on the plants or anything like you show in your picture. They weren't that long -- maybe once her size.

the strands arent that long now, and they have dissapeared some. I also have 2 marble mollys, 3 serpae tetras, and 3 bumble bee gobys (which one is missing or I just cant find it) in the tank with the 2 mickey mouse platies. So far it doesnt seem to be bothering anything, but I am still taking those plants out tonight and cleaning them off, I have a 2 year old at home with me so during the day I cant do too much to the tank. Here is another pic of what it looks like.

I found the missing fish, he was just hiding. So all fish are accounted for. The stuff seems to be going away and I have done a water change. So far it doesnt seem to be bothering anything. All the fish are still active and happy.

It could just be fish poo. I know your fish are small, but sometimes its very long and strange colors.

What are you feeding them?
