I had six tiger barbs. The I came home from work and two were dead. I got replacements (due to warranty from pet store). One of them died the next day.

:duh:

do a large (at least 30 percent) water change, then keep doing water changes everyday until you get the ammonia down. then see if they keep dying

also stop feeding for a couple of days also add some amquel dechol to sequester the ammonia. Keep up w your testing and water changes. It will be 4-6 weeks b4 your cycled also see if you can get a used filter insert from a friend or LFS to help speed up your cycle

1) Test daily
2) If your ammoina is over 0.5 or nitrites are over 0.5 go to step 3
3) Do a 50% water change, and retest. Keep doing this until they are at 0.5 and 0.5
4) You have some ammoina over 0.5 and no nitrates go to step 5
5) You are in the early stage of your cycle, see step 3
6) You have no ammoina, but you have so nitrites over 0.5 see step 7
7) You are 1/2 done the cycle, see step 3
8) You have no ammoina, no nitrites, and are seeing some nitrates, see step 9
9) Your done your cycle
