i have 2 clown loaches, they were given to me about 4 months ago, 1 was about 5 cm the other about 6cm, now the 5cm one is about 8cm and the 6cm is about 12 cm. They dont fight over food, eat fairly equally. Would it be that they are male and females? how would i tell?

Females tend to be larger.
well the shape of the two are very different, the smaller is quite slim and nicely formed and the larger is a bit more plump, still skinny from the front but from the side just generally larger.

Like I said at this size it is impossible to distinguish gender since clown loaches do not usually reach sexual maturity till they are well over six inches. There could be numerous reason as to why one is larger than the other.

IME, I bought 7 juvie clown loaches around 2" 2 years ago. They grew at different rates, and I have a feeling it has to do with dominance in the group.
OK GREAT THANKS FOR LETTING ME KNOW. I'LL TRY NOT TO BE SO NEUROTIC!! LOL
