Different types of cories together?

Yeah I am always wondering if different corydoras species would interschool with eachother.

And I always hear mixed things.

Judging on from what I have read in the past and even here in this thread about this issue/topic, I guess it's safe to say that if you had a group of cories (let's say skunk cories) together and you have a group of let's say.... peppered cories then maybe they will prefer hangout within their own types, but if there is only 1 single specimen of cory with another single specimen of cory, then chances are they will interact, as they don't see the same colour with them, so they go for "the next best thing".

If what I am saying is wrong, then please let me know, as I wouldn't want to be giving terrible advice to someone :(

I've found fish to be very politically incorrect. My julii cory's don't spend much time with my bronze cory's and vice versa. Same species, just different markings.

So you say that they won't pay any attention to like an albino or leopard cory I might add?
No, read my replies...
That qoute was in direct reply to your question of your older/bigger Skunk Cory interacting with younger smaller Skunks.
Different types will interact with each other but not on the scale that same types will interact.

Whether as individuals or shoals, Cories will prefer their own type to a different type. Two shoals (4+)(e.g. Panda vs Peppered) will interact together some of the time, but will spend the majority of their time as individual shoals, like two groups of office workers that get together for lunch everyday.
Individuals or pairs etc, will more likely spend much more time together but not have the same degree of interaction as a type specific shoal, e.g. 2 Pandas, 1 Bronze and a sailfin vs 5+ Skunks.....

ChileRelleno is right. Cories of different species will interact, but it's not the same. You won't know what I mean unless you have seen it. I thought my cory cats were blind at first because they would just charge around the tank, oblivious to the other fish they crashed into. The whole group will charge around the tank playing follow the leader, usually the biggest cory in my tank. My single Bronze cory is usually excluded, or should I say excludes himself most of the time from any sort of fun involving the 3 pepper corys.

What would be the difference if 3 cories of 3 different types shoal together.

YOu guys said that "its not the same".

Just got an Albino and three-lined cory cat. They don't seem to be interacting very much, but hopefully they will. My albino cory seems very active.
