I am not sure if this is the spot to post this but... I am looking into getting a digital camera. The one I have right now is my sony handicam 1mega pixel. It really stinks for taking tanks pics. Can anyone recoment a good quality for the price camera. I would like to stay around or under $300. I maybe able to do more but I wanna look there first.

I'm in the same price range as you, and I've been checking out the Fuji Digital Cameras at Best Buy.

Go and take a look at the Finepix 4.0 Megapixel Digital (model #S3100) for $299. Or, the Finepix 3.24 Megapixel (model #S3000) for $239.

Try to look for cameras that have good optical zoom instead of just digital zoom. They tend to take better pictures IMO. I love the cannon series and have an S45. Also for pictures of fish a tripod is a must and the option of high speed burst shots is also nice.

I have the Fujifilm FinePix S3000. The main selling points were its 6x optical zoom and its shape. Its boxy and chunky and fits nicely in my hands.

I hate the shutter lag, but then again, all digital cameras tend to have bad lag. All in all though, I really like my camera. It was around $200 (maybe less on sale) at Circuit City when I bought it.

I have a Cannon Powershot A70, and love it. Don't know anything about the specs, but it takes really nice pictures!!!

everything I read on the subject indicates this is the camera to beat in the 200$ price range.
Dont buy at bestbuy or any brick/mortar, save your pennies buy online (ebay, etc) or buy used.

I like my Kodak CX6330. I think it's about 200 at Best Buy. Granted, I didn't pick it out, it was a gift...but it does the job well, I think. I use it for all of my fish/tank pics and get pretty good results.
