dinosaur eel

Is it possibly a dinosaur fish? Cause they are long and slender, somewhat like a dragon/violet goby, and I have seen them at Petsmart. They look like an eel, but are actually considered a fish. Also very much like a violet goby.

You do not mean a reedfish/ropefish, Erpetoichthys calabaricus, do you?

You can't blame them for wanting an exciting name for their products; who cares if it's made up, non-specific, and/or varied from shop to shop. And I'd be damned sure to have at least one species at all times with the word "matrix" in its name.

OK, good point....swordtails could easily become 'samuri fish', butterflyfish 'ancient surface stalkers', etc. :rant2: I think I will go club a Petsmart fish manager now.LOL

petsmart sucks why wuold you go there in the first place they know nothing about fish. You would not go to walmart to by a car would you? so then why goto petsmart who hires anyone to sell fish whith no thought of the animal in mind. I prefere to goto a fish store for fish rather than a chain store.THINK BEFORE YOU SHOP YOU WILL BE HAPPIER THAT YOU DID!!!!!!!!

Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but I have to look! hahah

If I know there are fish tanks (whether it's in a restauraunt or petstore) anywhere near me, I feel driven to at least go take a peek.

Amen Socal!! I've found many a treasure at the likes of petsmart and walmart. Boycotting out of principle is noble, I guess, but only the naive think it'll make a difference. I call my visits "mercy missions", and I've rescued more than a few fish surely destined for the gallows.

all pet stores are alike around here. indepent business same as the big chains. i have to drive 200 miles to a decent fish store. so most my fish are from foster and smith or marine depot. sorry dont e-bay fish lol.

I would not go so far as to say pets mart sucks. I have had good luck with them. Of course I am also not gonna spend over 20 bucks for a freshwater fish unless it is rare or something. I have 2 dinasour eels that are very healthy and lovin life.

Looking at your sig, I would expect that the kuhlis that share that 55 with them are not loving anything much anymore...just about everything in that tank will eat them once big enough. How big are you planning on upgading to...750G?
