my cories do the same thing sometimes... well, not die, but disappear.... one was missing for a week, and i moved one of my fake plants, and the best i could tell, he somehow got trapped in the corner of the tank, under the plant... i guess he had been in the same position for so long that his body had stiffened into the shape... his fins were torn to nearly nothing... ironically, he was kicking around and trying to swim harder than i had ever seen before... so i let him be, thinking he'd die within the next few hours anyway... next day came along, and he was perfectly fine, except for the fins.... that was only a couple of weeks ago (when i found him like that), and i can't tell the difference between him and the rest of my danios! now how's THAT for a disappearing/reappearing act?
