Disappearing Fish???

That's what happened to my betta, found it a week later dried up on my floor. Now I always have a lid of some sort.

i hope youre laughing about the name of the story... i dont think the OP is laughing too hard right now.. heh
Of course I was laughing at the title "Invasion of the Beta Snatchers" I would never be that cruel. I should have put it in as a direct quote to captaincaveman's post. My mistake...I'm new here and I'm not sure about everything yet. I apologize if I offended rainbowcharmer, I know he's hurtin about losing his fish!!

He?? LOL

Anyway, I was not offended. ;)

I was pretty mad about my fish though. LOL But at least I've got another one in there. Going on two days and he's still there! I'm hopeful that he'll stay in there. :)

I tested the water again before putting this one in there, and all is well - still showing fully cycled with very few nitrates (got two live plants too which probably help keep the nitrates so low). so far all looks well in there.

I am planning to add a few shrimp to the setup too, but will give the fish some time alone before doing that. I'm not positive if I'll put ghost shrimp in with him or a couple of the cherry shrimp that I bought from Rachel here. Those should be arriving at my house today or tomorrow I hope. For now they'll all go into my 40 gallon, but I may pick a few out to put in the betta tank. We'll see though. I'm just worried that since they're a little bit bright that the betta may bother them. If that's the case, I'll stick with a couple good sized ghost shrimp and a big apple snail.

Nothing in stone there though.

Which reminds me, I should scamper off and post something so people can tell me whether or not the cherry shrimp would be safe in there. ;) No idea if anyone is still reading this thread. LOL

silly suggestion

Is there anyway to put a webcam on the fish tank?

And get another betta? Have the webcam active while you are gone? So if the betta does dissappear - the webcam would have the answers.
