Discus Eating

They need the best nutrition available. That used to mean a varied diet, but New Life Spectrum has put everything they need into one pellet. It may be hard to believe but if you try you should be pleasantly surprised. Just go to nlpublish.com and check out the testimonials section and see the results that people are getting, fresh or salt this food is a jump above others.

until the next, newer, better food comes along..

one food that delivers everything is nice..but as always..companies try to improve on nature..funny how nature has had millions of years to improve.

even tho this food may be complete...it still is lacking in variety..I believe the discus should see a mix of foods..or it may have trouble adjusting when one food source runs out.
(IMHO)

yes

excellent food..I just feel that variety is best..
improves their foraging skills;)

I learned that animals in captivity need stimulation ..including the introduction of safe yet a varied diet.

I don't think that the lack of variety is worse than a lack of proper nutrition, this is the best food hands down and mixing in other things is robbing them of vital nutrition.

im w/ star rider on this...varying a diet is always best...they make vitamins for humans that you can get all the suppliments that are needed to survive, but how many people are eating only pills and are truly heathy...my discus get NLS, and a mixture of frozen foods...variety in any fish's diet isnt going to hurt them.

You will get better results if you fed just NLS. If you choose to dilute its nutrition that is fine, but please don't tell others to do the same. They by no means need any other food.

Results by people who use it show that the best results are achieved when feeding only NLS, which shows that if anything else is fed it is diluting the nutrition of the NLS.

But HOW?....How can something that is beneficial be diluted by something else that is beneficial? How reputable are these sources?...(thats the science major coming out in me).

If the secondary foods do not add anything that is not in the main food they simply add other things that are not needed or already fulfilled by the main food. You basically add filler. It is like having a complete meal but then eating a lot of low quality food like iceburg lettuce, which makes the meal filling, but not as nutritious as it was originally.
