hey guys. 2 of my discus just formed a pair and laid eggs. I'm not going to try to do much with these ones, but they should spawn again when i move them to a separate tank.

I'll get some pics up in a minute.

The pair is roughly 6" each. The leos is the female and the wild blue is the male.

Like i said, this spawn i dont have any plans for, but they are future parents hopefully.

Please ignore the algae, tank water is fine.. the room just gets a tad bit to much sunlight =). I'm planning on hiring a janitor crew of BN plecos.

Congrats!!! That wild blue male is gorgeous!!!!! I think that pair will be a nice combination. Good luck with future spawning!!

thanks guys =).

thats what i have heard. Like i said, im not planning on this really going anywhere, but if i get any wigglers then they are going to be moved to a separate tank.

hmmm. I have been thinking about breeding discus for money.. Or at least to help pay for all of my other fish. I don't know anything about them though. Are they easy to breed? I know they can get very expensive for nice full grown ones.

relativeley easy to breed. Just gotta make sure that you keep the water clean and start out with good high quality fish.

I bought these fish as sub adults (bout 5-5.5 inches) and they were 80 dollars a piece from a well known breeder.

If you are serious about it look for a breeder in your area.

This is a good place to start. www.simplydiscus.com go to the message board/forums.
