Discus Fin rot?

My Discus have slowly started losing their fins, like its getting frayed. But I have no idea whats the cause. The tank is a 33 gallon planted, ph 7, and I do water changes 2-3 times a week. I tried using melafix and pimafix but that didnt really work. any suggestions on waht to do? thanks

My first suspicion would be the water quality is not as good as it should be. When you do partial water changes, how much are you taking out at a time? Are you gravel vaccing well at least once a week? Is the only other fish in there the catfish in your signature? Have you used a liquid test kit to determine what your ammonia, nitrite and nitrates are?

I had similar issues & I used combo melafix & pimafix. mine got better but did take a week or so. used up the whole melafix bottle.

I now suspect it's my AC110's HOB - that the sponge/media floss has to be cleaned maybe every 2-3 weeks instead of monthly.
