Discus or no Discus...

I plan on starting with 5, and if they pair off, I will probably donate the others to a friend, or house them in another tank.

I betcha $1 that once you get them, you'll never be able to part with any of them!:grinno:

I have a 36x18x24 inch 65g,thought I might have to upgrade when they got larger but it can handle 6 adults. They enjoy the 24 inch height(23 in water). Also have a 36x18x20 55g with the way the framing is I get 18" tall of water(50g).I would not put 6 adults in the 55g.The 5 inches taller adds a whole different dimension that seems to suit the Discus.

What does the group think of 4 in a 55g planted w/filter (obviously) and co2/air stone? Be gentle - This is not reality yet, but a future goal for a currently light-planted 55g. Thanks!

I haven't measured mine yet, but it's a 46G BowFront, so I know it's taller than a 55G. It's much more narrow, not as wide as the 55. If I had to say, it's probably close to 1/2 of the 55.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

Awesomeness. Thank you! It will be a slow and steady while before introducing them; I'll just have to contain my anxiousness!
