discus problem

You also need to take care of your nitrite issues. Discus don't tolerate poor water quality. What is your filtration setup? You may not have enough biological media to house sufficient colonies for nitrification.

And on another note, the discus that LFS come into usually aren't the best quality and they're often not in the greatest health. They may have looked ok to you, but to someone more experienced they may actually not have looked to be in good health. It would help to order from a reputable source. Also you can post pictures on here before you buy if you'd like, and we can assess their quality/health (not as good as in person, but better than nothing at all).

The other ones are gonna get sick and die in this set-up.Their immune system is too weak at this size and age.Don`t want fast moving fish with them or any other fish until they get to be 4 inches in size.

Bare bottom for sure feed many times, I feed my juveniles 6-8 times a day and no other types of fish just them and water change every 3 days, watch those para's. I have had exceptionally good luck I am selling them now. Feed blood worms and beef heart. Stress and bad water are killers. Sounds like and awful a lot different types of fish in your tank this could cause excess stress etc I keep my water temp at 84f. You can use a quality sponge filter but clean it every other water change.
