for the average hobbyist, I still think 3/4 may be alright and that's with changing the water 2 to 3 times a week, however yours is a whole other ball game. I don't doubt it works for you, I just don't think it does for the average Joe.

No, it doesnt work for the average Joe...which is why I also told him that the max he could put in there with normal water changes would be the 12 or so fish...but with the average number of water changes (1-2x a week), then he should be more conservative and go with the 1 fish per 10 gallons... which is 4-5 fish for that tank.
