Disease experts please help (Boesemani & Columnaris?)

I'm not sure it's fair to automatically disqualify LFS boesmani/rainbows in general. I've been seeing that come up a lot lately.

Absolutely not...I would never make such a sweeping statement. That's why I used the words "I've heard" and "might". Sorry if that came across wrong...I didn't mean for it to sound pretentious at all.

It just depends on where they come from. You can generally tell if they're good or not by looking at them. Some look more like mutts than boes and some look wonderful. The one's I've got now are from a chain store and are very colorful and of great quality.

Definitely agree...it all depends on where they're from, it's just easier (IMHO) to determine pedigree when you buy from a breeder....that was my reasoning anyway. I'm sure you could find an excellent specimen at a LFS as well. No disrespect intended.

EDIT: By the way, that's an excellent find for a Petco...nice lookin fish!!!

Good, then we're on the same page. That's one of the things I really like about this forum...you don't get the flame wars and arguements that are so prevalent on other boards!! Intelligent debate is good...silly arguements waste time.

Hey, Leopardess --

Guess where I got my first 7 Boes? Well, not Petco, but my local LFS

They're great fish and I hope to improve the line with the ones I got from Tanner.

The only reason I don't do LFS bows anymore is because you are never sure of what you are getting. Sometimes you get a real find, like you did -- very nice Goyder BTW! -- a lot of the times you don't. The LFS I got mine from has some new Boes in now and they aren't even close to as nice as the first batch I got from them.
