Dispersing Light Throughout Tank

I'm having issues with my lighting being too concentrated in the center of the tank. The fixture is just a regular incandescent hood (with the T shaped light socket) with two 13W CFL spiral bulbs in it.

The back corners of the tank are definitely not getting as much light as the rest of the tank. The bigger issue, though, is that the piece of driftwood directly under the lights is starting to develop algae near the surface of the water (basically where the light is most intense).

Not really sure if there is anything I can do short of moving the driftwood around. I'm not dosing any ferts and its only 26W over a 15g tank, but I'm still rather wary of any algae popping up considering the issues I've had in the past.

I suppose I could take apart the hood and put sockets at the ends rather than having 2 bulbs right in the center.

I dunno :headshake2:

Build or buy a canopy like the ones at www.ahsupply.com. It's really just a box. You could wire it for 3 or 4 incandescent fixtures quite cheap. The fixture would be at the front or back of the box. Or you could alternate them. You could stick them in each corner. Whichever way you want.
