Disrespect of a fallen hero

I dont care what side you are on... Protesting at a persons funeral is BEYOND reprehensible. Nothing is sacred anymore.
Reminds me of how Pres. Bush was 'slammed' at a funeral recently. Extreme lack of common courtesy....

" Lowery, former head of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, which Martin Luther King helped found in 1957, gave a playful reading of a poem in eulogy of Mrs. King and made a none-too-veiled reference to the Iraq war launched by Bush.

"We know now there were no weapons of mass destruction over there / But Coretta knew and we knew that there are weapons of misdirection right down here / Millions without health insurance. Poverty abounds... ....
"

 blablabla....

I wonder if it has ever entered Fred Phelps' tiny little twisted, cracked mind that he might go too far one day and get himself killed by an angry family member at a funeral protest or just walking down the street one day. I can't say he wouldn't deserve it.

It would not suprise me if that was exactly his fate...Cant say id miss him

These protesters have been at many other funerals too. They protested at the funerals of the many coal miners who died last month, and I'm not sure if they were there, but they had planned to be at Croetta Kings's funeral as well.

Personally to twist and use the grief of others (who were not even necessarily promoting homosexuality, not that it matters) makes you the very definition of a pompous a**.

I agree 100%. Gotta love biker gangs for doing something about it when most people would just talk about it.

I am a committed born again believeing Christian.........and I appologize for the behavior of a few who are using the name of Jesus so badly.

They have a serious misguided belief in what they profess...and I'm willing to bet that most of them don't spend much time, if any, in the Word of God or they would know better.

id go a step further than EMG... that is defidently NOT a christian belief... punishing with the sword or explosives... i think they just read part of the old testiment and skipped the part called the new testiment where jesus accepts EVEYBODY!!!
no these people arnt christians its defidently a hate cult! since when does the war in Iraq have anything to do with homosexuals? and although i dont think they sould be allowed marrage lisences, they are still people, and they deserve more than to be told that god wants them dead, Jesus was prety clear in the part about LOVE THY ENEMY!!! and god cares for all his lost sheep, heck there are a lot of christian ***s too!

THANK YOU TO THE BIKERS WHO CHEER FOR THE FAMILIES WHO HAVE LOST SOO MUCH!!!!

Actually Lobo.......there is some misunderstanding there too......Jesus never said it was ok to be ***....or that there wasn't anything wrong with it....He did say anyone who so much as looks at a woman with lust.....is as guilty as if he actually committed the act.....same thing about murder.........if you hate your brother you are guilty of murder. He said these things to show us just how far from God's perfection we really are.....and that we need a savior because there is nothing we can do to save ourselves.........a person either accepts His Word and looks to Jesus for salvation....or, they reject it and continue to keep trying to save themselves........or, deny that they need saving.

See, He didn't come the first time to judge..but to save.........next time He comes will be with judgement.......and all those who reject God's saving grace through Him....will be seperated from God forever....because through HIM is the ONLY way we can stand before God.

That's the message of the gospel......and the GRACE is...that salvation is for ANYONE who desires it...no matter what sins they have committed or are committing........God's grace is sufficient to take all that away and make us right before Him through the blood of Christ. That doesn't mean that our sins are OK.....just that we can be delivered of them and made right with God.

I am not of the affirming branch of christianity........to affirm ones sins and say there is nothing wrong with them doesn't lead a person to repentence and salvation.

I know discussing these things here isn't ok with the management and I suspect this thread will get locked.......but I just had to set that straight.

i no that emg... sry if my post was confusing, i wrote it in a lil of a rush, all i was saying was that *** people arnt neccesarily going to hell, and they arnt a source of evil, even if it is terrible what some of them do...
