I tried it when I first didn't know how important RO/DI was. I found it wasn't as pure as it claimed even though it said it was pure.
i personally dont agree with distilled, due to potential copper element....

Hindsight is a wonderful thing!
I used bottled distilled water when I found out just how bad my tap water was. But in the end I bought an R/O unit and haven't looked back since. Plus in the long run an R/O unit will save you time and money and it's a lot easier trying to deal with any emergency water changes when you have your own R/O on hand.
