Dither fish for Pearl Danios?

Is there a way to make CPDs (Cestial Pearl Danio) less skittish, like with another group of fish as dither fish?

CPDs are dither fish. The more the merrier.

I have 10 of them. Do they take longer to get used to the tank?

Yes, they can take a long time to get used to the tank. Mine were quite skittish until some porthole livebearers went in.
 
Cpd's are skittish by nature. Mine do come out and hang around in the open, but they are very shy. The only way to really ensure they become super brave is to have them in the tank by themselves. But, so long as you have plenty of cover for them, like a lot of plants, they will eventually get used to everything.

I bet it's a trial and error thing.

I was surprised at how well my neons and blood-fins interact. The blood-fins are atleast 3x the size of the neons, act very differently than the neons, yet they all hang as a group. The blood-fin tetras are like 5 ferrets in the tank. They weasel in/under/through things. Very bold. They spook at quick movements, but settle right down.
 
I've found CPDs to be reclusive no matter I did. Your set up sounds nice but dont be surprised if they continue to mostly hide in the plants and stay near the bottom .

Thank you. They do come out of the plants in the corner but you have to be very, very still while watching them.
I still live them though. There are beautiful little fish. Lots of color in a little package. But trying to get a non blurry picture with my cell phone is near to impossible!
