You can buy plastic egg crate from Home Depot to use as a divider. Inexpensive and easy enough to cut to size. Maybe a coupla suction cups tied to it to keep it in place or you can use some large rocks to brace it. It's pretty sturdy stuff.

The egg crate is good. It can be found in the fluorescent light paneling section. The downside is the size of the holes, 1/2 inch, but in your large tank, I assume you have larger fish and that would be ok. Are you looking for something more solid or with smaller holes? Another idea is to use a certain plastic molding, the flat end presses against the glass and you can slide panels in the slots. The panels, too, are the acrylic fluorescent light panels – can be clear or opaque, with holes drilled in them I guess… or you could use plastic needlepoint canvas (craft stores, Wal-Mart), but the needlepoint canvas is more floppy.

Left is the egg crate. On the right is the type of molding I mentioned above.

I just invented a bizarre divider using all four for my betta tank because my old betta died and I wanted to have 2 bettas in there instead. The egg crate/canvas divides the back in a narrow slit for circulation of filter and heat and the molding/solid panel divides the tank in half widthwise.
