DIY 180g stand with TV holder

I think the stand going the entire length with the tv will look better too. I know it definetaly will NOT be a structural issue if you use properly spaced uprights within it. That being said, A second stand for your TV Would be more versatile (as said before). Also, make sure you get an 8' or 10' stand in the room! If it's like many houses I've lived in...the only place you could squeek something like that fully built is in the living room.

I would build 2 stands then if you want face both of them with one sheet of plywood or what ever finishing wood.

Yea im thinking the stand would be better if it were dived by having the tv on one stand and the tank on another. Because as you guys mentioned, it would be easier to build two stands, and if I wanted to move it, it would look nicer.

That doesnt look very attractive, but if thats what you really want to do, it can be done. I would use a cantilever design ...

Have you considered putting the tv under the tank in the middle of the stand? if you really wanted to do something awesome you could find a second hand p2 notebook with a webcam...point the webcam at your tank and then send the video stream to the tv set underneath the tv set....cool...

That would be a really neat idea. Id love to do that but im not sure it would work in my case. Its going in my room and it would be kind of near my bed. So im not sure if it would be tall enough for me to see the tv and have the tank at a good height.
