I've read several comments about people making (or buying) partitions for their tanks. I have two ten gallon tanks that I would like to divide into three sections each, to temporarily hold fry and culls.

Can someone help me with how the experts do this? How do you make a partition and what do you make it out of?

Thanks,

egg crate is a good option and if you want to stop fish from swimming though i would just use some tooling over it.
Yep, that's what I use. I sometimes cover it in fiberglass screen to keep small fish from swimming through, but you'll probably need something even finer for fry. I usually cut the egg crate a little smaller than it needs to be, and then cover the edges with this stuff to wedge it in place: http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc...splay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053

I used egg crate that I tried to cover in some fake plants and moss...worked for a while then just made a mess. The egg crate in general worked wonderfully but for fry...I dunno. You'd have to get some small holes in there.

Ballyhoo did an awesome diy with report cover bindings. hang on, lemme go find the thread........ (plays elevator music).

I found instructions for this the other day here:

Same thing I believe, just not using the silicone.. I was thinking about giving this a whirl, only maybe making it with 2 sheets, and putting java moss in between to make a "moss wall divider".
