DIY CO2 recipe for 20oz bottles

1/4 tsp yeast
2 letter botol
2-3 cups sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda

Once theres no more bubbles get rid of the mix, wash out the bottle and start over. Best thing to do is to have a 2nd 20oz bottle ready 2-3 days before.. so all you do is switch up and theres no drop of co2/pH.

Interesting....I take it by having it pre-mixed and ready to swap over, there will not be any issues of pressure?

no, only if you run a buble counter

once you open the cap off the bottle the pressure will drop (duhh lol) but since you already have a bottle thats been ready and producing co2, the turnaround will be much faster, minutes instead of 12-24hrs..

Ok...here we go. Drilled the holes 1/16 smaller than the tubing and got a nice snug fit. I'm mixing the yeast now. I think it may be a bit more than 1/8 teaspoon. I only had 1/4 teaspoon so had to try and eyeball it.

The tubing from the bottles to the tank is about 2'. Is that too much? I also am using a second bottle for a seperator.

hey...one more quick question....room temperature is fine right? just curious since it was mentioned the water had to be warm when mixing.

well...four days later...not much happening on the way of CO2. I get one bubble every minute or so. I have two bottles...one for mix and one filled half way with plain water. Tube from reactor bottle to seperator bottle. From seperator bottle to air stone in tank. I haven't seen any bubble from the air stone. all caps are on nice and tight and tubes are nice and tight as well.

Is this normal? Doesn't sound like it from what i've been reading.

1- whats the room temperature? Tank is in my basement so probably upper 60s.
2- sure the yeast isnt expired? Pretty sure it's good.
3- are you sure there arnt any leaks? try a soap test. No soap test. what is this?
4- shake the bottle, are you getting any bubbles? Yes, If I gently swish the bottle I get a lot of bubbles in the separator.
5- do you see any bubbles in the gas separator? Yes..this is where I get the one bubble every minute or so.
