I've been using regular Fleishman's yeast since I've started the DIY. Been reading about using brewers yeast to get even more life out of my setup.
So....I stopped a store that sells home brewing stuffs and picked up three different packages. Wondering if anyone has any experience with either of them?

They are:
Muntons
Coopers Brewery
Nottingham

Wine yeast is the way to go. They tolerate more alcohol than beer strains. Go back and get either a Champagne strain or Eau de Vie. They're the strains that tolerate the highest alcohol level. I don't think the differences between what you have will be very significant. Some of the Belgian strains will tolerate 12%-14% but I've never seen them in dry form. You could always buy a bottle of Chimay and culture the yeast left on the bottom of the bottle, but if you do that you might as well start brewing!

I tried to find Champaign yeast but they didn't have it. Had to settle for brew yeast.

Any brewing strain is an improvement over baker's yeast. There are plenty of online suppliers if you care to go that route. Actually if you can find it distiller's yeast is even better.
