DIY CO2?

Well, the non-baking soda version ran out after about a week. Still looking for good placement of the airstone as underneath the filter just caused larger bubbles. I found a diy thread over at APC about a modded small internal filter as a powered diffuser. Looks promising, I'm gonna have to try this out soon.

prob a great idea. i use a ditto internal filter on 1 of my tanks for co2.

I have a diy co2 setup on my 10g planted tank. (2) 20oz bottles hooked together with a t adapter. The first time I mixed a batch up I used the sugar, yeast and baking soda combo. What's the reason for the baking soda? Does it slow the yeast's reaction down? I ask because I mixed a batch last night with only sugar and yeast which started up much faster than when I used baking soda.
