DIY CO2

so far in my DIY I had notice last night at the T connectors that there's a leak there from the back syphon from the bubble counter bottle. I fix this today using the smallest cable tie's i have which is 13 cable ties. I put one at each location where the silicone tubing connects at in the DIY CO2.

All 4 2 liters is holding the CO2 pressure and these bottles are pressurize and this includes the 32 oz bubble counter/gas exchange bottle. The CO2 isn't reaching the tank from underneath the tank. I wonder if there could be something I could use on the line going to the tank to pull the co2 from the bottles and push it to the tank above. Or another option that can take me a month or 2 to do is put a shelf on the wall above the 55 and set the diy co2 bottles on it.

But with the shelf idea the question would be would I still need to use achgeck valve since everything will be above the tank and using gravity to pull the CO2 down into the tank instead of trying to push the CO2 up to the tank?

But I will continue to tinker with this setup. Until The CO2 do start flowing I'll continue to use Seachem Flourish product like the excel

I started out with the Diy setup the same kind of setup you have, then I switched to pressurized which I like so much better. Start saving for a pressurized system. When I set up my bottles I would add 2 cups sugar to the bottle then fill up with lukewarm tap water add anywhere from 1/4 to 1/2 tsp yeast just add dry, and about 1/2 tsp baking soda to help stabilize the mixture. That worked ok then I started using jello. Mix one package jello with 2 cups sugar and one cup boiling water completly dissolve the jello add to bottle and place in fridge to setup. After it has set up add 2 more cups sugar, lukewarm water and the same amounts of yeast and baking soda mentioned above. The yeast has to consume the sugar first and then consumes the jello so to my way of thinking it lasts twice as long as the sugar method. After adding all ingredients to the bottles I would just hook them up. I didn't shake mime up except when they started to slow down bubble production. Within just a couble hours I noticed bubble production just fill the bottle to where it starts to get smaller because when the yeast starts to react with the sugar it could bubble right up the tube into your tank. I checked mine just about everyday with a flashlight for bubble production.

I'll give that recipe a try, all this time my concern was just geting things going, but now everything is working. I'll be fiddling around with the base recipe I'm using. The baking soda I'll be giving it a go next month, until then it will be sugar water and yeast.
