DIY cork structure

amazing tank. I really love how the plants have filled in to make that nice carpet. I bet the fish love it, it has such a natural feel to it.

yeah, it's not truly happy under water without loads of co2. I think it's terrestrial, you can't stop it above the waterline.

I actually put some HC on top of my cork to the left and it's just above the water line and it has attached itself to the cork and grows really well.

I do have to trim the carpet about once every two to three weeks to make sure it doesn't get too thick and float to the surface of the tank.

Your tank is amazing! It looks much bigger than it is. I absolutely love the floating island! Really nice choice of livestock too. I have an empty 40L & a couple pieces of corkbark I have been wondering what to do with...
This is giving me some cool ideas. Thanks so much for sharing!

Wow! It's looking really nice! Hmm, I think my new HC will be in trouble or maybe I'll try some on a floating cork piece, no CO2 here.

I have some HC growing on my cork on the left side and it's out of the water with the roots in the water and it grows really fast. It's right under the lights and has really attached itself to the cork. It's under high light but since it's out of the water it can get all the co2 it needs and looks great with no algae issues.

Just looking around in the DIY for something else and found this thread again.
Tank looks awsome:) Thinking about a background for my 40b, a DIY, maybe I'll try this.
