well have you ever been to a large lake and seen the drop off? all those rocks then nothing? ive personally always loved that kind of look and wanted to find a way to put it into my cichlid tank.... well i did :grinyes: and im here to share how i did it!

lets start off with what you need.

1-3 empty can of fish food (you can use how ever many you want)
about 12 rocks 4 large 4 medium and 4 small.
and sand or gravel..

Next how did i do this?

first take your empty fish food containers and find out where you would like them placed.

step 2 take all your substrate and push 3/4 of it to one side of the tank.

so it looks like this

step 3 take your fish food containers and push them under the sand on the inside of the drop off. put them in as far as they can go untell all you see is the opening.

............................put them right here

step 4 take your largr rocks and place them so there keeping all the substrate from coming back down

....................................right here

step 5. place all the medium size rocks in front of the container openings.

step 6. take your little rocks and use them to fill up cracks and what not that pebbles or sand could fall trough.

step 7 sit back and enjoy your mini drop off.

hope this help you im using this in my 55 right now:headbang2:
