I'm 19 years old, I'm an IT professional for state education, so I work with a bunch of 30, 40, 50, and 60 year old retired teachers, 90% women (but I do work with Miss Arkansas, but we wont get into that!). All of them have plants and pictures of their kids / husband and more boring crap. My desk is very bare at work, so I've decided to spruce it up a bit. I've decided to build a nano for a mantis shrimp and polyp.
Since I want to keep things as small and compact as possible but still achieve my goal. I have adopted a "false back" type of tank that will be made entirely of acrylic. The back will be black acrylic the rest clear. I wanted to start cutting this weekend but I didn't get around to it because I was still deciding how to design this.
Tank dimensions:
10" tall
15" wide
15" long - 3" false back
Anyway, here's what I came up with:
I'm still working on a canopy, I'll make a custom fixture for two 18watt 9" 50/50 compact fluorescent straight pin bulbs. Also a 40mm 12 volt fan for cooling.
About the only part I'm stuck on is a cleaning crew, so I'm open to suggestions.:help:
I'll probably continue to post information here as far as the build goes, so stay tuned!
Also, I'm open for suggestions / design ideas.
