DIY glass covers - what for hinges?

Hi everyone,

I'm going to be setting up a proper fishroom with 35 tanks in the next couple months and I need covers for my tanks. The problem is that some of my tanks are odd sizes (43x18 and 30x24) and also do not have plastic trim, so I"ll need to make covers for them myself.

Cut glass won't be a problem, but does anyone have suggestions for hinges? Better yet, does anyone know where to buy in bulk the plastic material that All-glass uses for their hinges?

I made my own lids/covers. I bought the hing material a the LFS. You can buy it by the foot. 2 or 3$/ft. I used 5 diamond glass (5ml?) It was a tight fit but with a little patients it turned out great. I wet the glass and hinge slot prior to using a rubber mallet.
 
somewhere i seen them selling just the hinges for lid,.. sorry but i can remember where,.. try googling on line places and search their parts department,.. i just seen them last week but i google non stop and can't remember where it was,..lol
 
my LFS has it $2 a foot
 
My LFS guy makes them and just uses silicone.
-Masks off about a 1/4 inch edge on each glass where the hinge will be. (both sides)
-Lays down a wide bead of silicone on a non stick surface. (criscoed wax paper)
-Lays down the glass with about 1/8 inch between for the hinge. and applies pressure to smooth and flatten silicone on the other side.
-Lays down another wide bead of silicone on the top side.
-Smooth out, let dry
-Trim and pull tape for a clean line.
-Clean glass etc.
