DIY "half a ten"

Also for the glass top, I've had 2 scrap pieces of glass left over, so I cut it to size and instead of getting the plastic hinge, I went old school and just ran a bead of silicone in between the 2 pieces, I did stick some masking tape on either size of the bead and later removed the tape for a cleaner look:
now this is a neat idea

so let me get this straight, you scored the outside of the tank while it was still in a tank shape, and broke it without removing each pane?

I've been considering doing this to just the front of a tall tank for a paludarium with doors, but thought I needed to score the inside for the cracking to be effective...

Looks cool other than the empty shells in there, that makes it look like a cemetary or somethin.

Guys thanks for all the comments.

JP I've got around 5-7 brevis juvies in it right now, 4 are coming out already and eating, so far so good (of course now something is gonna go wrong :D).

Mellow, I did break away the cut panes while the tank was still in tact, but to make sure that I didn't break the remaining glass that I actually needed (the bottom portions), I scored the panes that I was breaking in about 1.5"-2" strips, starting from the top and going down to the intended cut point. So I'd score a small strip, break it, score another one, break it, etc... I broke off the sides first since the front and back panes attached to the outside, and sides were attached on the inside (hope it makes sense :D), so it was easier to score a strip, crack it with pliers along the scored line and then just twist it back and forth, tearing it from the silicone joint.
