I am looking for some input on my next project, a rebuild on my LED fixture.
This weekend I got my hands on a new tank!:woot: Here is a bit of info on it, and my plans for it.
It is 6 feet long, 18 inches deep, and 24 inches tall. Plans are to make it a reef. Most of the corals going into will be soft, things like palys, zoos, mushrooms, perhaps a few hard corals like birdsnest or something but definately not a dedicated SPS tank.
Here is a list of what I have currently.
12 xpe R/B
10 xpe blue
8 xpg r5 cool whites
4.25 / 35 inch heatsink
(FREE from a buddy) 1/8 inch piece of aluminum 72/9 inches. (also have a buddy with a break table if anyone recommends having it bent into a reflector shape??)
2 ELN 60-48 drviers (dimming circuit with pots already built)
What I am looking for is some input on how the other DIYers would finish out the material list given a budget of around $300. Since I have some dimmable drivers in place for color refinement I would not object to running the R/B actinics off of constant current drivers to keep costs down. Also worth mentioning is the fact that since I have started with Meanwell drivers I would prefer to run the whole set up on them.
That is about all I can think of off the top of my head. If you have any specific questions throw them at me. OH!!! All of my current LEDS have 80 degree optics, was think of mixing it up a bit. I will purchase all LEDS with optics, so I have them on hand, but do not feel obligated to use them.
I did not mention the height of the fixture off the water as this is still all optional at this point. It will be hung from ceiling at whatever height is required.

I appreciate any input you can offer!!
