DIY moss wall project - anyone?

I've considered doing something like that, but freestanding. This just makes me want to do it even more. Who knows, it might even work!

I personally find it very cool! This is a moss wall on a 1ft tank.

Very similar to the moss grown on a type of corkboard. My attempt at this was pretty darn unsuccessful when I found out that corkboard floats (duh, right?) and it was super frustrating trying to suction cup it to the back wall. I tried to get my chair in front of my aquarium to get a better position, needed some more room, and accidentally kicked a gallon of water onto the floor. Whoops. Girlfriend not pleased. RTR (I think) used corkboard glued to a glass plate, and I think I know why now...I'm thinking this plastic mesh may just be the way to go here.

Sguthrie - you got it in one! Cork is great, but a PITA to keep stable - heavy glass and lots of silicone was my solution. I have not yet tried the mesh-based moss wall concept, but definitely will someday- there is a 29 just itching for a redo right now. I may try using nylon net (also stable long-term) but have not yet investigated that.

BTW, polyester thread, at least the stuff my wife stocks for sewing, never rots- I swear the stuff is eternal. So that is what I would use to bind the edges of the mesh envelope.
