DIY or store bought stands?

Anyone have any experience with DIY stands? Im about to place an order for a reef ready Oceanic 125 or maybe a 180. Oceanic only warranties them if you use THEIR stands though, and they can be almost as much as the tank for a nice oak one. Im pretty handy and can build such a stand, probably sturdier than the ones they sell. However, maybe its worth it to get the warranty? Anyone have any thoughts on the issue?

Generally if a tank holds water the first time its filled, it should last for quite some time without any problems.

As long as you build a stand that is level, you shouldnt have any issues.
