DIY Pentagon Stand

Well Im pretty sure its flat on top, that piece of plywood should be pretty flat.

The stand may be like 1/16-1/8 inch off on one of ths sides but that should only make the water a little higher on that side.

Any suggestions on how to check if its flat?

Well Im acually waiting to put the tank on it untill I have the stand totally done. I have the tank all setup with water and everythign in it on a table down here in the basement, so its going to be a project to get all the rock and water out when I do finally move it on.

Make sure those holes on top are counter-sunk, or you could put a piece of foam on top and then it would level itself out without applying too much pressure in one spot.

good job man. Im probably gonna build a stand for my hexagon too, so its good to see im not the only one willing to cuase themselves more headache.

It may be a headache but it the end you feel like you accomplished something and it was much much cheaper too which is always a plus.

Too bad your circular saw doesn't have an adjustment for cutting angles...you could have cut the plywood (where it forms the blue seems) at a slight angle and they would have matched up so you wouldn't have seen the but ends of the plywood.
Are you sure that door is big enough?
I hope I don't sound too critical...you got the job done and it'll work! Nice job!!!

Hehe, well, come to find out the saw can do angles(I told you this is my first real build :duh: ) Would have made it MUCH easier to do the front piece of 2x4 for the pentagon, but I still got it.

The door is a bit small but I think it should be big enough for what Im going to do with it, theres really not going to be much that I need to store down there, random supplys, food and eventually a canister filter hopefully.

:) Most do, but oh well, just think of what you will be able to do on the NEXT one you build!!!!
