Well, the jury is not out yet. I still have a few ideas on how to attach the lid/cover. What else do I have to lose besides money and time?

Problem with these projects is that it's like trying to reinvent the wheel. You can do it, but in the end you're left with a wheel!

Like I mentioned the learning experiences is well worth the cost IF you follow through and work out ALL the problems. After that you'll become an expert able to fix any canister problem no matter what it is LOL.

one thing i thought over to improve my design was waterproof tool boxes. i have 2 that i think would be perfect for the job. the only things that held me back at that point was the amount of time and money i had already wasted and that we were leaving for vacation the day after i bought my canister. which in hind sight was just a little late to change filters, lol. fortunately with the addition of the canister almost everyone survived 2 weeks of my brother-in-laws care... almost.

sac tapping is a unpleasant experience ....... but not always GOOD LUCK IF YOU MAKE YOUR FILTER keep us posted if it works out.
