How do you plan on creating the patented spray injection???

Looks easy enough. :) The concept is simple.. Probably inspired by a man peeing into a toilet and getting foam. :) They just call it "patented spray injection" Whatever, its a hose spraying into the water.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a remora for 50 bucks?
I realized at some point that I only DIY if it entertains me. My time is worth a lot more than the price of a skimmer. Especially when the "Mark I" has a serious flaw that I only discover at the end. So have fun and let us know how it works.

be careful you do not copy their injector, there design is patented. Even if you copy it for personal use, its still against the law.

Naww

Naww - just because it is patented doesn't mean you can't reproduce it. Just means you can't sell it. Thats what patent law is for. The sale of product. Not the existance of items.

And theirs is a figure-8 shape.. if mine was simply a hole drilled in pipe, they couldn't say that was patented. Besides - I was only half-way serious about selling them.

Your wrong there, from the US patent website

"patent- a property right granted by the Government of the United States of America to an inventor “to exclude others from making, using, offering for sale, or selling the invention throughout the United States or importing the invention into the United States” for a limited time in exchange for public disclosure of the invention when the patent is granted."

It is illegal to make or use a product that has a patent. It has harsher penalties for selling.

Oh.. Poopy

I admit I was wrong then.. I could have SWORN that the patent laws were different.. Oh well. Not going to stop me. :)

I won't sell them, however, but atleast I can benefit. Who the HELL wants to pay the dough THEY want. Its VERY unfair in my opinion.

It will actually be an Urchin - because it will be in-sump. Same design though.. How do the EV series work? Could somebody tell me? Because those look pretty cool too. :)

Just dont say I didnt warn you if the US gov comes a knocking. ;)

And while I agree that patents are somewhat ridiculous, they are there for a good reason, one that will last quite a while.
