my last projects

These are the stands for my 125 and 65 gallon tanks. The usual 2x4 frame with pine trim as I don't trust myself yet with the expensive stuff. The first one took forever to build the 65 gallon stand took about 4 weekends.

I originally made this stand to try something else besides the regular box type stands. It carried a 75g for 2 years and has been supporting the 110g for the last 2 years.

Do you have any steel in that stand, or are the two cantilevered front corners supported by wood alone? I'd be real worried about the stresses on the glass in those corners.
