Just wondering if there is anything to bond acrylic to glass, im going to be doing a DIY project turning my 10 gallon glass tank into a refugium. Is it possible to bond acrylic to the glass so i could use the acrylic as baffles? Or do i have to use glass baffles? Thanks!

my personal experience is that it does not bond to glass very well at all....i would be tempted to use glass as the baffles....

Thanks Niko, what should i use to bond the glass baffles to the glass aquarium? Just the regular aquarium sealant? Also, do you know possibly where i should be looking to get custom baffles cut to my size at?

well, i would use 100% silicone...ensure it says "Aquarium Safe" on the tube..

If you have a local glass merchant near, they should be able to cut them to your sizes, my local one cut mine from the off cuts of glass, and did not even charge me...and i used 6mm glass for the baffles in my sump....

Or buy EDPM weather striping and make pressure locking baffels that can be moved, you would need acrylic some striping and a saw, but it creates move versitile baffels.

Atnixon, do you need to sand the glass smooth?

Thanks for the suggestion jojo, i think i actually might try that, does home depot sell the EDPM weather Striping?

Yep just cut them a little short to give room for the weather striping. I think it's 1/4 inch. If you decide to go this way let me know and I'll dig you up a DIY.
