DIY Tank Stand

Very nice and functional stand, very tall I notice, what about 50" high. I didn't appreciate a 24" stand until my last one was that high for my 244 tank and accessibility is so much easier compared to my other 120 tank which sits on my 30" stand and always requires a ladder stool.

Are you going to finish the outside with stain?

Its only 26 inches tall and i have put on some birch plywood on the outside

Oh OK. I was just using a few items in the room as reference point for the measurement, must be an optical illusion.

Looks good, and with a skin of plywood it will be plenty sturdy, even for drunk friends bumping into it! However, and I really don't want to rain on your well built stand parade, is that treated wood? I heard that could be a source for contamination into the aquarium water - as it contains insecticides, etc. N E 1 else know 'bout that?

Never had problems with treated wood on the OUTSIDE of the tank before. Its the inside portion of the tank (you know, under water) where you need to watch out for.

i made one similar in construction.

i can now park a mazda with a family of four on it, put my tank on top of that and start a mosh pit in my living room with no fear of it budging at all. the only down side is the weight.
