Okay, UPDATE!

I redrew it because some lines were messed up and stuff :)

Then they were cut (my sister wouldn't let me take a picture of her cutting them...)

I put them together tonight:

Step one, lay stuff out...

Wrap the book (AKA movable flat surface) in wax paper so nothing sticks to it. Also, unwrap and lay out the glass.

Tank #1, the bigger one, in on the bottom, and tank #2 is on the top, the piece at the top right are spare peices, I could make a super tiny tank

Now would be a good time to mention, some of the glass broke... meaning i need to buy more glass if I'm going to make the other thank.

Now wash off/clean the glass. I used water a vinegar, worked fine for me :) I used china markers on the glass. green bucket is the water and vinegar mixed, white is just water.

Even this adhesive stuff came off with the vinegar

lay the pieces out as you clean them, otherwise you might forget which pieces they are :grinyes:

So then I forgot to take pictures for a while, but here's what I did

Squeeze a stripe of silicone onto the bottom piece of glass, around all edges. Then add the sides, and silicon the corners. Then put more on the inside and smear it into an arch with your finger...

I bet I'm not explaining this well :wall: it's late, I'm tired, had classes today, AND the silicone fumes are strong (which no one told me!!!) so I have a headache (I suggest ventilated areas!)

So I remebered to take a picture once I had three sides done...

And here it is finished, on top of the kitchen cupboards to cure (out of the cats' reach!)

I'll water test it Monday morning before class :) Then planting!!!!!!!!!!!

Wish I would of thought of that when I was in school, the use of my text books in ways that would prevent me from opening them for the weekend.:wall:

Good job so far, you going to sand down the edges that were cut?

I'll have to look up about sanding, hadn't thought of that.

And I had to use a non-text book, as I have (lots) of homework this weekend :wall:

As for how it broke. The glass probably had a weak point already it in, or something, and just decided to break there instead. Or something...

*waits for it to cure* I wonder if staring makes it cure faster?

looks good so far.

Thanks for all the comments :)

Well, it's cured, but I was at school all day today so I'll test it tomorrow (since I have Tuesdays off!)

Oh, and Sunday night I was bored... so I carved a foam background for it :P I don't know if I'm going to bother getting the concrete and stuff for it, so who knows LOL

So stay tuned for pictures sometime tomorrow!
