DIY vs. Paintball

Otocinclus are terrific algae eaters. and great in a small tank.

the only issue is you need to keep a good supply of food for them as they are algae eating machines(on some algaes) and if they get use to algae they are often difficult to change over to other food sources.

Thanks for the advice, I already have a population of nerite snails for algae control, i was planning on getting 3? oto cats, 5? cherry shrimp, and 1? true sae. Are those good numbers? But last time i had a true sae it started eating my plants, is that normal? There might not have been enough algae because thats in a seperate low light tank.
